The marigold is characterized by very fine and very cut leaves, crumpled, they give off an incredible smell of mandarin. Its taste is a bit like that of passion fruit.

Marigold is used in soups, flavored butters or “flowery butters”, and its petals gladly brighten up fruit salads.

Its coloring properties have earned it the nickname "poor man's saffron".
